About the band: Mawson’s Folly

Mawson’s Folly emerged at the end of 2022 from the acoustic duo, Silver

Lining.  Silver Lining was formed in 2012 when Tim and Helen started to

develop music together.  They have played in the UK and France, and like

nothing better than

to perform their own music and some of their favourite

covers in their own style.  They do not try to emulate the original songs, but

they put their own twist, making the music their own, even if it is a well

-

known, well

-

loved song written and performed by others.

They are currently working on their 3

rd

album, and have two albums on sale

now, their first

Hand in Hand, and their second

Merry Go Round.  They take

inspiration from life experiences, good and bad, as well as the natural world

and its wonders.

Tim plays his 12 string Martin guitar as well as mandolin.  Helen plays her 6

string Gibson guitar, the mandolin, the keyboard and, even her hurdy gurdy

from time to time.

As their musical journey continues, they have started to collaborate with other

well

-

established musicians to create even more music.

All very exciting.

Helen and Tim are equally at home playing for Day Care Centres

, or group

meetings

whose members may

like to hear

from songs they remember from

times gone by, to a concert where they may be the headline act or support act.

In short, they love making music.

Mawson’s Folly have their own YouTube channel where they have uploaded

some of their original material

, and they

also have a Facebook page, both

called Mawsons Folly.  Do visit and get in contact with them if you’d like to

know more or if you would like to enquire about their

availability.
